Promoting Gender Equity in Academia

Women are typically underrepresented in academia, particularly in senior faculty and leadership roles. Our lab is dedicated to advancing diversity in research and in academia, and is involved in research studies to document gender disparities. 

With funding from the UCSF Chancellor's fund and the UCSF Resource Allocation program, we are currently involved in work to examine how the COVID-19 pandemic may be impacting the careers of women and men in academia. We are focusing specifically on potential gender differences in research productivity, media exposure, and university service. 

For faculty at UCSF, Dr. Roubinov leads a monthly Gender Equity Works-in-Progress group to provide peer mentorship for ongoing gender equity research. Please email Dr. Roubinov for more information.
